As an IP Sales Specialist you will be accountable to drive & deliver incremental sales & revenue growth across Telstra\'s data network solutions, IP applications and solutions, including Telstra IP Telephony. You will achieve these results by working collaboratively with a group of Direct Sales Account Teams and their customer base.

You will use consultative selling skills and your knowledge of Customer Applications to assist a group of Small and Medium Business Account Managers to achieve sales in specific Data and IP product sets. You will be accountable for the take up of IP network products and strategic applications across your aligned account team.

This role is primarily an office based role working closely with the sales team and may require some face to face customer management and flexibility in your approach to be able to adapt to the ever changing demands of the business. You will be responsible for enhancing strategic product knowledge across your aligned sales team. This will be achieved by ongoing training, coaching & mentoring. You will also be responsible for the design and costing of basic IP Data Networks and Solutions, plus the initiation of post sales service activation activity.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Achieve a monthly Sales target in addition to being measured on the converged product revenue performance of your sales team.
  • Effectively support and guide your Direct Sales team to assist in the identification of specific data (IP) opportunities (defined by product, complexity and size), through solution definition and design to propose and close.
  • Enhance the IP solutions knowledge of your team by coaching on latest products and pricing, empowering staff with knowledge to be able to discuss converged products & solution opportunities with their customers.
  • Develop & maintain a strong qualified pipeline of incremental opportunities. In relation to Data & IP  applications and solutions.
  • Support and guide your Account Managers in developing and implementing effective sales plans and strategies to meet the customer\'s needs in defined product areas.
  • Data gathering and analysis, in order to match Customer technical and business requirements leading to correct and suitable IP solution design.
  • Entry of agreed Customer solution designs in the activation systems and answering queries from activation staff.
  • Stay ahead of product/technology developments and transfer knowledge.
  • Be accountable for achieving Telstra converged products annual sales & revenue targets as detailed in your KPI\'s relative to your team portfolio and any other financial targets as required.
  • Achieve the teams converged products & services revenue growth target
  • Enhance converged products & solutions skills and knowledge within the team to up skill the Account Managers specifically on strategic Data products, customer applications and  opportunities

To be successful in this role you will have proven solution and value based selling skills as well as the ability to thoroughly understand Telstra pricing offers and contracts. You will also have an in depth understanding of customer business processes and the use of customer business applications.

You must have highly developed communication skills, be well presented and have a confident manner when dealing with customers and associates. It is essential that you have the ability to articulate ideas clearly, logically and succinctly in groups, one on one meeting and in written form.

Ideally you will have extensive experience interacting with a broad range of functional areas and managerial levels; especially with senior executive levels. You must also have a proven ability to create and execute competitive strategies to grow and turn around a business, there fore you must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to achieve collaborative outcomes through an influencing style.

Finally we are seeking a customer focused and results driven individual who is passionate about networking and developing a solution.  A current drivers licence is essential as the role requires you to visit customers on occasion.
